چکیده

Abstract We report the experimental study of triple-lobe wavelength double-clad co-doped Er:Yb fiber laser operating with a composite-state soliton regime. The passively mode-locked emission is achieved through nonlinear polarization rotation (NPR) technique. three-lobe wavelengths oscillation, centred at 1567 nm, 1585 nm, and 1616 nm, attributed to two phenomena; filtering based on intensity-dependent linear loss cavity impacting population inversion (gain). Moreover, by fine adjustment controllers, this complex regime still can be switched into harmonic states. This work shows novel operation regime, which could help understanding composite dynamics in lasers useful for different applications division multiplexed transmission systems optical signal processing.

Composite Cavity Fiber Laser with Asymmetric Output Intensity and Wavelength

The composite cavity fiber laser (CCFL) is relatively simple in its fabrication, as it is essentially three wavelength matched Bragg gratings in a section of doped fiber. By using internal feedback with unequal sub-cavity lengths, unidirectional CCFLs with significantly asymmetric output power from its two outputs can be achieved. Preliminary results also show that it is possible for the lasing...

Soliton interaction in a fiber ring laser.

We have experimentally investigated the soliton interaction in a passively mode-locked fiber ring laser and revealed the existence of three types of strong soliton interaction: a global type of soliton interaction caused by the existence of unstable cw components, a local type of soliton interaction mediated through the radiative dispersive waves, and the direct soliton interaction. We found th...

Soliton pairs in a fiber laser: from anomalous to normal average dispersion regime.

We report the observation of self phase-locked pulse pairs in a stretched-pulse fiber laser operating in the normal path-averaged dispersion regime. Numerical simulations agree with our experimental results. More insight is provided with a numerical comparison between intracavity profiles of pulse pairs in anomalous and in normal dispersion regimes.

Soliton fiber laser mode-locked by a single-wall carbon nanotube-polymer composite

We present a detailed investigation of pulse width and spectral dynamics of an Er-doped soliton fiber ring laser, mode-locked by a carbon-nanotube-polymer composite. The laser is stable and produces ∼ 650 fs pulses at a fundamental repetition rate of 20.8MHz. The carbon nanotube saturable absorber has a low saturation intensity of ∼ 18.9 MW/cm and a 16.9% reduction in absorption (due to saturat...

Quantification of different water species in acetone using a NIR-triple-wavelength fiber laser.

A fiber laser using a thulium-doped ZBLAN gain medium was used to generate laser radiation simultaneously at 1461, 1505 and 1874 nm, with > 5 mW output power at each of the wavelengths. The laser was used to quantify the near-infrared absorption of liquid water in acetone. Additionally, near-infrared spectra were recorded using a broad band source and were interpreted using parallel factor (PAR...
